Under his leadership with President/CEO Denise Landman, the brand has grown from $0 to a $1 billion enterprise making it the #1 loungewear brand in the world and the fastest growing retail business in Limited Brands history - and perhaps all of retail.

His oversight includes business strategy, finance, inventory/merchandise planning, inventory deployment, demand forecasting, human resources, business operations planning, PINK freestanding store concept, all corporate staff interfaces (e.g. real estate, store operations), a $35 million annual SG&A spend and a $30 million marketing, digital, PR and visual budget. He was responsible for negotiating separate multi‐year exclusivity deals with the NFL, MLB and Collegiate Licensing Company and instrumental in extending this strategy to Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs), providing those institutions with the largest retail apparel distribution deals ever given to HBCUs.

The West Philadelphia native was born and raised in the neighborhood of Wynnefield and graduated from one of the state’s top preparatory high schools, The Episcopal Academy (located in Merion, PA) in 1988. He went on to Florida A&M University’s elite School of Business & Industry where he received both a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration (1992) and Master of Business Administration (MBA) with a concentration in Corporate Finance (1993).

Dent launched his professional career in 1993 with Ford Motor Company where he held seven positions in five years culminating with the position of Finance Manager for the F Series/Expedition/Navigator Platform, Light Truck Vehicle Center, which at the time was the #1 selling vehicle program in North America for any manufacturer - foreign or domestic. In 1998 at age 27, Dent became the US Controller for Sales and Marketing at Volvo Trucks North America, making him the youngest controller at Volvo - worldwide.

In 2000, Dent began his career at Limited Brands, the $10 billion parent company of brands including Victoria’s Secret and Bath & Body Works. Through the years he rose through the ranks to play instrumental roles in the company’s growth in positions of increasing scope and responsibility -- beginning as Director of Finance, Corporate Finance Staff, Limited Brands (2000 - 2002) before moving on to Director of Strategic Planning, Bath and Body Works (2002 - 2004), Vice-President of Strategic Planning, Bath and Body Works (2004 - 2005) and then Chief Financial Officer, Victoria’s Secret PINK (2005) before being appointed to his current position in 2007.

Outside of work, Dent pursues his passion of preparing young men for life and higher education through his involvement in a variety of civic, educational and religious organizations that share that mission. He serves as Chairman of the Board and volunteers as a group mentor for Expanding Visions Foundation, a Columbus, OH based non-profit agency dedicated to the growth and development of inner‐city male youth ages 12‐18 (since 2007).

Dent is also the Chairman of the Budget and Finance committee for Florida A&M University’s Board of Trustees (since 2007), a member of the Executive Leadership Council and a lifetime member of the National Black MBA Association and Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Incorporated.
